Every tower's fire panel on one screen
A strata company managing a portfolio of residential towers had fire visibility building by building. Connecting Magnifire to each panel put the whole portfolio in one place, and turned two-trip fault callouts into one.
A fault used to mean a diagnosis visit and a return trip with the part. With the fault type and device known before the technician leaves, most are closed in a single visit. Across a portfolio of towers, that is a standing line taken off the owners' bills.
The challenge
The strata company manages fire safety across a portfolio of residential towers, each with its own fire indicator panel, its own contractor and its own Annual Fire Safety Statement obligations. Visibility was building by building. To know the state of any panel, someone had to be in that building or wait for a contractor's report.
False alarms were a recurring cost. A chargeable brigade attendance in NSW is $1,656, and the evidence to contest one was scattered across emails and paper, often found too late to lodge a waiver.
When a fault came in, the first a contractor knew of it was a phone call with an address. They would arrive, diagnose, find the part was back at the workshop, and book a second visit. Two trips for one fault, billed to the owners.
The solution
Magnifire connects to the fire indicator panel in each tower and captures every event it reports: alarms, faults, isolations, pre-alarms and restores, each with a device address and timestamp. Every building sits on one dashboard, with role-based access for the strata manager, the building managers and the contractors.
Nothing changes on any fire system. The signalling path and monitoring stay as they are. What changes is that the whole portfolio is visible in one place, in real time, instead of one building at a time.
What changed
Every panel in one place
The strata manager sees every tower's panel on a single screen: what is in alarm, what is in fault, and what is sitting isolated right now and for how long. There is no more calling around buildings to find out.
Contractor compliance you can see
Each attendance, test and rectification is logged against the building and the contractor. The manager can see who attended, when, what they did and whether the routine servicing is keeping to AS 1851, rather than taking a signed sheet on trust.
Waivers tracked, not lost
Every chargeable brigade attendance is captured with the events either side of it. The waiver register drafts the NSW s.43 application with the evidence attached and the 180-day deadline flagged, so a $1,656 charge is contested in minutes instead of written off.
The technician arrives ready
When a fault comes in, the contractor sees the exact device, loop and fault type before leaving the workshop, so they bring the right part and close it on the first visit.
I used to find out a panel was in fault when an owner rang me. Now I can see every building at once, and I can show the committee that our contractors are doing what they are paid to.
